Specially trained volunteers of the SHINE Program will offer a Medicare 101 presentation.
SHINE is a free program of the Florida Department of Elder Affairs that empowers elders to make informed decisions about their health care coverage. Children practice their developing literacy skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog, accompanied by an animal handler. Bring your own books or borrow one from the library to read! We are excited to welcome the Hearts of Gold therapy team to our Read to a Dog program! This local organization brings the healing power of canine companionship to communities throughout mid-Florida. They are recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC) to certify dog-handler teams for canine therapy work and bring furry friends ready to listen to stories from all readers.
